The aircraft departed Belize City at 10:03 local time for a planned 35-minute flight to the Privacion Airstrip, which serves the Blancaneaux Lodge. The pilot made a routine radio report at 10:16 while passing La Democracia and climbing to 2,500 feet. During the descent toward the destination, the aircraft encountered poor visibility conditions associated with the approach of Tropical Storm Gamma. The Islander struck a wooded hillside at an elevation of approximately 1,800 feet, roughly 50 feet below the summit. The wreckage was located on a 240-degree heading, approximately 5 kilometers northeast of the destination airstrip. All three individuals on board were fatally injured, and the aircraft was destroyed. The aircraft was a Britten-Norman BN2A-21 Islander.
