These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of BlackBoxWiki (the "Service"), operated by TechBridge Software Co., Ltd. ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in Thailand. By accessing or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
BlackBoxWiki is an open, investigative reference for aviation accidents and incidents. Content is curated from publicly available investigation reports, news sources, and reference material. The Service is provided for informational and educational purposes only and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or representative of any civil aviation authority, investigation agency, airline, or manufacturer.
2. Eligibility & Accounts
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
3. Acceptable Use
Your use of the Service is governed by our Acceptable Use Policy. You agree not to misuse the Service, attempt to disrupt it, scrape it at scale, or use it for any unlawful purpose.
4. Intellectual Property
The compilation, presentation, original commentary, and software comprising the Service are owned by TechBridge Software Co., Ltd. Underlying factual data, official investigation reports, and third-party media remain the property of their respective owners and are used under fair use, public-domain, or applicable licensing terms. See our DMCA Policy for takedown requests.
5. User Contributions
If you submit corrections, comments, or other content, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, modify, and display that content in connection with operating the Service. You represent that you have the rights to submit it.
6. Paid Memberships & Purchases
The archive itself is free. We also offer an optional paid membership ("BlackBoxWiki Plus") and one-time purchases such as courses. Plus provides reading and organization tools; it does not gate access to case-file content, which remains available to everyone.
Merchant of record. Payments are processed by Polar Software Inc., which acts as the merchant and seller of record for all transactions. Polar is responsible for collecting and remitting any applicable VAT, GST or sales tax, and its terms apply to the payment transaction itself. Your card details are never received or stored by us.
Billing and renewal. Plus is billed in advance on a monthly or annual cycle and renews automatically at the then-current price until cancelled. We will give at least 30 days' notice before any price change affecting your renewal.
Cancellation. You may cancel at any time from your account's Membership tab. Cancellation stops future renewals; access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not delete saved cases, collections or notes when a membership lapses — they become read-only where they exceed free-tier limits, and you can export or delete them at any time.
Refunds. Outside the statutory withdrawal right described below, payments are non-refundable, and we do not refund partial periods. If something is broken on our side, or you were charged in error, contact us and we will make it right.
EU and UK right of withdrawal. If you are a consumer in the EU or UK you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase of digital content. Because access begins immediately, you are asked at checkout to consent to immediate performance and to acknowledge that you thereby lose that right. If you do not give that consent, the purchase does not complete.
Availability. Individual Plus features may change as the Service develops. If we remove a material feature you paid for and do not replace it with something comparable, you may cancel and request a pro-rata refund of the unused period.
7. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE"without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that information on the Service is accurate, complete, current, or error-free. See our Disclaimer.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TechBridge Software Co., Ltd. and its officers, employees, and contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill arising from your use of the Service. Our aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service shall not exceed USD 100.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, for any conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute shall be resolved exclusively in the competent courts of Thailand, subject to mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence.
