Investigation Summary
The aircraft, operated by Cachapoyas Investment (FC Investments), departed runway 02 at La Aurora International Airport at approximately 12:33 local time. During the initial climb, the airplane entered an uncontrolled descent and struck trees and high-tension power lines. It came to rest on 4th Avenue in the Zone 9 district of Guatemala City, approximately 980 meters from the end of the runway. A post-crash fire broke out, destroying the airframe. The flight was part of a relief effort following Hurricane Eta. The Guatemalan UIA final report (A-09-2020) determined the aircraft was loaded to 8,055 lbs, exceeding the maximum permissible weight of 7,255 lbs. Additionally, a shift of cargo toward the rear of the aircraft negatively affected the center of gravity, preventing the aircraft from maintaining flight.
