The flight departed Accra at 09:12 UTC, heading northwest toward Obuasi. Approximately eight minutes into the flight, the helicopter disappeared from radar coverage. The wreckage was discovered in a dense forest in the Akrofuom District, where a post-crash fire had consumed the majority of the fuselage. The occupants included high-ranking government officials and three crew members. The investigation is being led by the Ghana Armed Forces and the Ghana National Fire and Rescue Service. The flight recorder was recovered on August 7, 2025, and will be used to reconstruct the final moments of the flight. DNA analysis is being conducted in South Africa to identify the victims.
